18 miles of blades grabbing at the ocean, each paddle pulling it’s own weight. The Na Kona team press towards the finish at the Kona pier. The crew is made up of 9 juniors, who change in and out of the 6 man canoe. Each time members of the crew change out new energy revitalized the canoe. This energy fueled the Na Kona Boys for the entire race.

The Queen Liliuokalani Outrigger Canoe Race has two stages of the race. The first is the womans race and the second is the mens race. The womans race is from the Kona Pier to Honaunau, while the mens race returns to the Kona Pier. This race is the largest race in the paddling world. More crews participate than anyother race in the world. This brings some of the top paddling crews to compete against others.
