After just two days of school, the senior doors are locked and loaded! While it was a challenge to design and create a door in only a week, the Class of 2019 managed to triumph the great obstacle; furthermore, the senior advisers praised that this was one of the fastest classes to get their lockers finished. What makes senior lockers so exciting is the individuality expressed with every piece of wood. Each door transforms to carry a unique design that is special to each senior. From a functioning basketball hoop to an illuminated peacock lantern, the creativity of the doors never fail to amaze.

Kaila Phillips, a Parker School senior, exclaims, ‘“I chose to base my door upon the movie “UP” because it represents exploration and traveling, no matter the obstacles in the way. To travel is to have an adventure in a new place, and to see our Earth in a new light. I wanted my door to show our school that we all still have a curious child in our hearts that wishes to transverse new plains, and visit new cities, just as they did with the balloon house in “UP”’.

Not only do the seniors enjoy the doors, but students from all ages stop to admire. This tradition is one that is highly cherished, and kids from all ages at Parker School look forward to the day they can have their very own senior door.
