Parker School students have been very active in the community lately. The majority of the senior class, who are 18, participated in the midterm elections. Even those who were not able to vote still played a big part in encouraging other students and people in the community by posting affirming messages on social media. It was great to see all of the students excited to finally be able to vote and play their part in the community. The rest of the school who is unable to vote at this time still look forward to being able to partake in the events that shapes our country and use our voices to our advantage.

Newly 18, Anna Gaglione says, “When I walked into the polling station as a first time voter, I was applauded. It felt so goo to represent my island and family in that moment; I was proud to fight for my rights as a student, a woman, and an American”

“Voting is important to me because it gives me the power to state my opinion. Every vote matters and I will continue to vote every election. People say that voting is not impactful, but it definitely is. I am just glad I can be apart of it,” says first time voter, Sydney Schorr
